My 420cc (13hp) mud motor on a 1436 hull would give me about 20mph with just me and a light load in it. A 212cc (9.9hp) Mercury gives me the same speed with less weight and much less noise. These kits are also not for big boats. The biggest kit you'll find is for a 670cc (22hp) v-twin motor.
